General instructions

This demonstration allows you to learn about Pearson's correlation by viewing scatter plots with different values ofPearson's r. In each case, you will have an opportunity to guess the correlation. With a little practice, you should getpretty good at it.

Step by step instructions

Click the button next to the correlation that you think is present in the scatter plot. You will find out if you wereright or wrong. If you were wrong, try another value. Then click the "New data" button.

Summary

After looking at a series of scatterplots, you should have a pretty good feel for what a certain value of r means.
