Preface

This module is one of a series of modules designed to teach you about Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java.

The program described in this module requires the use of the Guzdial-Ericson multimedia class library. You will find download, installation, and usageinstructions for the library at Java OOP: The Guzdial-Ericson Multimedia Class Library .

n this lesson, you will learn how to write a program to do green-screen processing to superimpose a source image onto a destination image while making the green background of the source image appear to betransparent.

Program specifications

Write a program named Prob03 that uses the class definition shown in Listing 1 and Ericson's media library along with the image files in the following list to produce the five graphic output imagesshown in Figure 1 through Figure 5 .

  • Prob03a.bmp
  • Prob03b.bmp
  • Prob03c.bmp
  • Prob03d.jpg

Figure 1 - Input image file Prob03a.bmp.

Image of a female ice skater facing the camera on a green background

Figure 2 - Input image file Prob03b.bmp.

Image of a female ice skater facing slightly to her left on a green background

Figure 3 - Input image file Prob03c.bmp.

Image of a female ice skater facing slightly to her right on a green background

Figure 4 - Input image file Prob03d.jpg.

Image of a frozen lake with a penguin and some buildings on the far shore.

Figure 5 - Output picture.

Three views of the ice skater on a frozen lake.

New classes

You may define new classes as necessary to cause your program to behave as required, but you may not modify the class definition for the class named Prob03 given in Listing 1 .

Required output text

In addition to the output images mentioned above, your program must display your name and one other line of text on the command-line screen as shown in Figure 6 .

Figure 6 . Required output text.
Display your name here. Picture, filename None height 256 width 344

General background information

This program receives three views of an ice skater in bmp files with a pure green background along with a jpg file containing a snow scene.

All four files show the Alice runtime panel with the words World Running... and several associated buttons. (See Figure 1 .)

Program behavior

The program performs the following actions:

Muhamad Reply
Bacteria doesn't produce energy they are dependent upon their substrate in case of lack of nutrients they are able to make spores which helps them to sustain in harsh environments

explain assimilatory nitrate reduction
Esinniobiwa Reply
Assimilatory nitrate reduction is a process that occurs in some microorganisms, such as bacteria and archaea, in which nitrate (NO3-) is reduced to nitrite (NO2-), and then further reduced to ammonia (NH3).
Elkana
This process is called assimilatory nitrate reduction because the nitrogen that is produced is incorporated in the cells of microorganisms where it can be used in the synthesis of amino acids and other nitrogen products
