  • Meniskus: Dit is die buiging van die oppervlak van ‘n vloeistof omdat die vloeistof aan die kante van die houer vaskleef en dan ‘n omgekeerde bogie vorm.

Opdrag 7:

Jy suig die vloeistof op en druk jou vinger so vinnig as moontlik op die boonste punt. Dan lig jy jou vinger op en laat loop die water uit totdat die meniskus gelyk met die lyn is. Jy gebruik dit wanneer jy presies 25 mℓ of 50 mℓ (of enige grootte van die pipet) wil afmeet om by iets te voeg.

  • Buret: die lesings sal afhang van die groottes van die lepels.

Meting met ‘n maatsilinder

Volume verwys na die inhoud van sekere ruimtes. As jy koeldrank koop, betaal jy vir 'n sekere hoeveelheid vloeistof wat 'n sekere ruimte vul.

Hierdie hoeveelheid koeldrank kan ook as die volume koeldrank beskou word.

Volumes kan met 'n maatsilinder, 'n buret of 'n pipet gemeet word.

Voordat ons leer hoe om hierdie meetinstrumente te gebruik, is dit nodig om weer na parallaksfoute wat moontlik begaan kan word (en liefs vermy moet word!) te kyk.

Deur dikwels 'n maatsilinder te gebruik, ontwikkel jy die vaardigheid om akkuraat te skat.

1. Gebruik 'n tipiese maatsilinder om die volumes van die volgende houers te meet (en om te kyk hoe akkuraat jy skat):

Daar is twee basiese reëls wat nagekom moet word om 'n maatsilinder korrek af te lees:

  • Jou oog moet regoor die onderkant van die vloeistofoppervlak (meniskus) wees;
  • Die maatsilinder moet nie skuins staan soos in die volgende geval nie!

Meting met 'n buret:

'n Buret word gebruik om vloeistof se volume te meet.

Dit is veral geskik vir die meting van volumes kleiner as 50 cm.

Burette is van bo tot onder gekalibreer (ingedeel) en is gewoonlik akkurater as maatsilinders.

Die hoeveelheid vloeistof wat uit die buret getap word, kan bloot op die buret afgelees word deur te kyk waar die meniskus is.

Leeruitkomste 1: Die leerder is in staat om met selfvertroue op weetgierigheid oor natuurlike verskynsels te reageer, en om binne die konteks van wetenskap, tegnologie en die omgewing verbande te ondersoek en probleme op te los.

Assesseringstandaard 1.1: Dit is duidelik wanneer die leerder ondersoeke beplan: beplan eenvoudige toetse en vergelykings en bedink hoe om dit deeglik uit te voer.

Leeruitkomste 2: Die leerder ken, interpreteer en pas wetenskaplike, tegnologiese en omgewingskennis toe.

Assesseringstandaard 2.3: Dit is duidelik wanneer die leerder inligting interpreteer: identifiseer kernidees in die teks, vind patrone in aangetekende data en maak gevolgtrekkings uit inligting in verskeie vorme (prente, diagramme, ens.).
