Aktiwiteit: om bekende sure en basisse en hulle funksies te kan opnoem [lu 2.1]

(A) Sure en sommige van hulle funksies

  • Soutsuur

word gebruik om stene en sement mee skoon te maak;

verlaag swembadwater se pH.

  • Salpetersuur

word gebruik in kunsmis, kleurstowwe en plofstowwe;

is teenwoordig in plastiek.

  • Swawelsuur

is waarskynlik die belangrikste suur in die land;

is ‘n effektiewe droogmiddel;

word gebruik in die voorbereiding van kunsmis, kleurstowwe, papier en gom.

  • Fosforsuur

word gebruik om koeldranke te geur;

word deur tandartse in tandsement gebruik.

  • Boorsuur

word in baie ontsmettingsmiddels gebruik;

is ‘n effektiewe kiemdoder.

  • Sitroensuur

is die suur in lemoene.

  • Oksaalsuur

is die suur in tamaties.

  • Wynsteensuur

word in bakpoeier gebruik.

  • Asetielsalisielsuur

is die suur in bekende aspirientablette

  • Askorbiensuur

is Vitamien C.

  • Melksuur

is die suur wat vorm as melk suur word;

Melksuur word ook in spiere gevorm, veral nadat strawwe oefening gedoen is (seer spiere).

(B) Basisse en sommige van hulle funksies

  • Natriumhidroksied (Ook bekend as bytsoda)

word gebruik by die maak van seep;

word gebruik as reiniger van afvoerpype.

  • Kalsiumhidroksied (Kalkwater)

teenwoordig in sagter sepe;

word aangewend in die landbou- en boubedryf.

  • Magnesiumhidroksied

is onder andere ‘n purgeermiddel (‘n purgeermiddel word gebruik om die maag te laat werk).

  • Ammoniak

is ‘n algemene, huishoudelike reiniger;

word gebruik as vlugsout omdat dit so ‘n skerp reuk het;

is ook ‘n ideale middel om vlekke mee te verwyder.

fullerene is a bucky ball aka Carbon 60 molecule. It was name by the architect Fuller. He design the geodesic dome. it resembles a soccer ball.
what is the actual application of fullerenes nowadays?
That is a great question Damian. best way to answer that question is to Google it. there are hundreds of applications for buck minister fullerenes, from medical to aerospace. you can also find plenty of research papers that will give you great detail on the potential applications of fullerenes.

Mostly, they use nano carbon for electronics and for materials to be strengthened.

Yeah, it is a pain to say the least. You basically have to heat the substarte up to around 1000 degrees celcius then pass phosphene gas over top of it, which is explosive and toxic by the way, under very low pressure.
