Daryl immediately ran to the police office. The policeman arrested the thief. The whole town was very grateful.

Father

Doctor

Police

Ambulance

Children’s help line

Emergency number

  • Try to memorise some of these numbers.

Assessment

Learning Outcomes(LO’s)
LIFE ORIENTATIONLO 1
HEALTH PROMOTION The learner will be able to make informed decisions regarding personal, community and environmental health.
Assessment Standards(ASs)
We know this when the learner:
1.4 identifies relevant people and their contact details, to report cases of accidents, abuse, crime, fire, illness and injury.
GEOGRAPHYLO 1
GEOGRAPHICAL ENQUIRYThe learner will be able to use enquiry skills to investigate geographical and environmental concepts and processes.
Assessment Standards(ASs)
We know this when the learner:
1.3 answers questions about key features of people, places, resources and changes in the environment.
NATURAL SCIENCE LO 1
SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS The learner will be able to act confidently on curiosity about natural phenomena and to investigate relationships and solve problems in scientific, technological and environmental contexts.
Assessment Standards(ASs)
We know this when the learner:
1.1 Plans – uses materials selected by the group in order to communicate the group’s plan;1.2 Does – participates constructively in the activity with understanding of its purpose.
EMSLO 1
THE ECONOMIC CYCLEThe learner will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the economic cycle within the context of ‘the economic problem.’
Assessment Standards(ASs)
We know this when the learner:
1.5 identifies some business leaders and entrepreneurs in own community and describes their businesses.
ARTS AND CULTURE LO 4
EXPRESSION AND COMMUNICATIONThe learner will be able to analyse and use multiple forms of communication and expression in Arts and Culture.
Assessment Standards(ASs)
We know this when the learner:
4.4 Drama – participates in drama exercises that focus on sensory perception and association (learners mimic and class mates must try to identify occupations).

Memorandum

  • Let the learner choose an occupation (e.g. by drawing a card from a container). He/she must then do some research on that occupation or speak to someone so that he/she can do oral about it in class.
  • Write a few examples of occupations on cardboard that can fit on a learner’s head like a hat. He/she must not be able to see it. Let him/her stand in front of the class. While the others give him/her clues, he/she must try to guess what “his/her occupation” is. (Support them by guiding them. The other learners must be allowed to mimic).
  • Building industry – encourage the learners to exhibit the different kinds of building materials. Write the occupations of people who are involved in building a house on cardboard.
  • Important telephone numbers – help the learners to write down the correct numbers on page 10. It is a good idea to let them design a card on which all their numbers appear. This card could be carried on their person.
  • Visit an important person in town, e.g. the mayor, chief of the fire brigade or chief traffic officer (GEOG. 1.3).

Devang Reply
are you nano engineer ?
s.
fullerene is a bucky ball aka Carbon 60 molecule. It was name by the architect Fuller. He design the geodesic dome. it resembles a soccer ball.
Tarell
what is the actual application of fullerenes nowadays?
Damian
That is a great question Damian. best way to answer that question is to Google it. there are hundreds of applications for buck minister fullerenes, from medical to aerospace. you can also find plenty of research papers that will give you great detail on the potential applications of fullerenes.
Tarell
what is the Synthesis, properties, and applications of carbon nano chemistry

so some one know about replacing silicon atom with phosphorous in semiconductors device?
s. Reply
Yeah, it is a pain to say the least. You basically have to heat the substarte up to around 1000 degrees celcius then pass phosphene gas over top of it, which is explosive and toxic by the way, under very low pressure.
Harper
Do you know which machine is used to that process?
